LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska police booked an Oregon man into a detox cell after he mistook a police station for a casino – twice.
The 21-year-old man approached the front desk of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln police station after attending a Saturday night football game, according to the Washington Post. He asked authorities for blackjack chips but left after they told him it was a police station. Minutes later, he returned and tried again.
An officer who administered a blood alcohol test found his blood alcohol level was .273 percent, which is more than triple the state’s legal driving limit.
A police sergeant said the man had not committed a crime and was not arrested.
