CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — The smallest officer on the force has a big message for members of his community: lock your car doors.

WTVR reported Officer Daniel McNeil, 5, has appeared in local public service announcements to help curb vehicle break-ins. McNeil is getting a head start on his law enforcement career by helping out his local department.

“I’m going to be a police officer for real and stop criminals and take them to jail,” McNeil told the news site.

The viral video, which outlines what the community can do to prevent crime, received over 20,000 views.

Officer Pretko served as McNeil’s partner during his time with the department. Since McNeil and his family are moving to Rhode Island next month, he told the news site Pretko will take care of the community in his absence.

“I’m gonna meet me a new buddy, but I’ll really miss Officer Pretko,” McNeil said.
