2nd Kenn. Fugitive Captured; South Carolina Woman Still Missing

(PoliceOne.com) -- The second Kentucky fugitive suspected of abducting a South Carolina woman during a multi-state crime spree was captured Wednesday in northern Indiana.

Chadrick E. Fulks was caught shortly after noon in Elkhart County, FBI agent Tom VanWormer said. He was being held at Elkhart County Jail in Goshen, Ind. about 30 miles east of South Bend. The first suspect, Branden L. Basham, 21, of Hopkins County, Ky., was taken into custody Sunday night after police say he tried to carjack two women in the parking lot of an Ashland, Ky. mall.

Authorities have not indicated that they are any closer to finding the missing woman, Alice Donovan. Officials were searching in South Carolina, and near Raleigh, N.C. where Donovan’s automated bank card was last used.

Ohio troopers had believed they spotted Fulks late Monday sleeping in a blue BMW, most likely the car of Alice Donovan, parked in a rest area in north-central Ohio. The man sped off when the trooper ordered him out of the car and nearly ran over another officer. Troopers did not see anyone else in the car and do not know if there were any possible people or bodies inside the trunk.
