Twin sisters from Oakland, Calif., are in custody in connection with the murder of a police officer nearly 34 years ago.
Joyce Gaskin and Joy Hall were arrested Tuesday in the 1970 killing of Berkeley police Officer Ronald Tsukamoto. The 53-year-old women are being held on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact to murder.
Investigators have long believed the officer’s murder was connected to the Black Panthers, a radical 1970s group.
Another former member of the group -- Don Juan Warren Graphenreed -- is also suspected in the killing of Officer Tsukamoto. He hasn’t been charged, but is being held in Fresno County jail on unrelated charges
