CHICAGO — Video was released Tuesday of a fatal Nov. 18 shooting of an armed man.
Officials told WLS Darius Jones, 26, fought with another man in the street before pulling out a gun and firing into a group of people nearby.
Police who happened to be at the intersection at the time of the incident immediately responded. They repeatedly ordered Jones to drop his weapon, authorities told the news station.
When he didn’t comply, officers fired their weapons, killing Jones.
A lieutenant said the officers acted within departmental guidelines, but the IPRA is still reviewing the case.
The man who Jones shot in the abdomen was taken to a local hospital and is still in critical, but stable condition, the news station reported.
