WARREN COUNTY, Pa. — A Pennsylvania police department is mourning the loss of one of their own after a K-9 died during a training exercise.
WICU-TV reports that K-9 Choper was on the roof of an abandoned building Tuesday with his handler for a training exercise when the K-9 fell. Choper was rushed to a veterinary hospital where he died of his injuries shortly after midnight Wednesday.
Choper, who was five years old, served for the Conewango Township Police Department for three years.
Governor Tom Wolf ordered the Commonwealth Flag in Warren County to fly at half-staff from sunset to sunrise Thursday in honor of Choper.
