SACRAMENTO — A California Highway Patrol officer who was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic on the highway died from his injuries a day later, FOX40 reported.
Officer Nathan Taylor responded to a separate collision scene on Saturday when he was struck by a passing car. He was transported by ground to a hospital with extensive injuries including broken bones.
CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow sent the news site a statement announcing Taylor’s passing Sunday night.
“It is an incredibly sad day for Officer Taylor’s family, the CHP, and the State of California,” Farrow said. “The loss of an officer protecting our community is truly devastating.”
Taylor was a six year veteran of the force.
