ATLANTA — Two Atlanta police officers involved in the 2006 fatal shooting of a 92-year-old grandmother were fired after an internal investigation found they lied and falsified documents after the botched drug raid.

Another Atlanta officer resigned and six more were disciplined as a result of the probe into the killing of Kathryn Johnston at her home.

Johnston was killed when a police drug unit tried to execute a “no-knock” warrant using information provided by an informant. No drugs were found and officers planted drugs in the home after the shooting.

As of now, 14 officers have been cited for misconduct involving the raid, including five who earlier pleaded guilty to federal charges after an FBI probe.
