Faster braking

This technique requires a little practice. Many of us have found ourselves in situations where we’ve needed to slam on the breaks (on-duty or off) and no matter how much pressure you put on that pedal, the car never seems to stop quickly enough. By putting the car in neutral, you will stop faster. That’s because your brakes will no longer be trying to stop the torque on your transmission, they’ll just be stopping the momentum of the car.

If you’ve ever driven a stick shift, what is the procedure for breaking in a stick shift? Applying both the clutch pedal and the brake, thus disengaging the transmission and breaking in a shorter distance. If you try it you will notice a dramatic difference.
