ORLANDO, Fla. — The same Florida Highway Patrol trooper involved in the arrest of an anesthesiologist who repeatedly banged his head in the back seat of the trooper’s car, faced an almost identical situation this past weekend but this time, it involved a local Marine.
According to the arrest affidavit, last Friday morning around 2:30 a.m. a trooper pulled over Andrew Rocker, a 23-year-old Marine from Chuluota. The trooper says he observed Rocker driving 90 mph on State Road 408 and weaving in and out of traffic.
The trooper said Rocker smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test, so he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence.
After Rocker was placed in the back of the trooper’s cruiser, the trooper says Rocker started cursing and screaming at him.
Rocker reportedly bragged about his service in Afghanistan and belittled the trooper for never having served in the military.
At some point, Rocker became so agitated he began to bang his head repeatedly against the glass. When the trooper told him to stop, Rocker unleashed a profane tirade.
The whole incident was captured on video from the trooper’s dashboard camera.
