LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Two boys spent their Sunday selling lemonade to help raise money for their local police department, FOX 4 reported.

Aiden Best and Nathan Perry had been trying to think of a way to thank the police when they were inspired by their church.

“They protect us, every single one of us,” Best said. “And if we didn’t have them, our world would be apocalyptic and there’d be rampage all over.”

The boys were able to raise $50 which they spent on doughnuts for the police department. They also bought cinnamon rolls for the fire department with money that was leftover.

“We felt like the police have done so much for us and they have nothing in return, they just did it because it’s their job and they deserve a treat,” Perry told the news site.

Police were grateful for the boys’ actions and as a thank-you, showed them the inside of a patrol vehicle.
