SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — A Sheboygan police officer has shot a 47-year-old Sheboygan man after the man pointed a gun at the officer.
Police Chief David Kirk says police officers were responding to a call from a woman who said her father had left the house with a gun and could be considering suicide.
Kirk says the man drove back to his garage when he saw two officers arrive in the area. The man then came out of his garage with a gun.
Kirk says the man disobeyed orders to drop the gun and instead pointed it an officer, who then shot him in the head.
He says the man was taken to a local hospital and then flown to one in the Milwaukee area.
