TULSA, Okla. — A man who lead police on a pursuit is in jail after stealing a Tulsa patrol car and posting video on Facebook.
John Pinney, 25, saw an officer had left the keys in the unlocked vehicle during her coffee break and stole the car, according to NewsOn6.
Sgt. Steve Stoltz said 911 received a call from a woman who reported a man got in a police car, asked if she wanted a ride, then drove off after she said no, the station reported.
The high-speed pursuit was fully documented by Pinney on the officer’s iPad and posted to Facebook live. In the video, he turns on the sirens and brags about stealing the vehicle.
“I’m in the cop car. Where’s my sirens at? Hear my sirens? Look,” Pinney said in the video.
According to Oklahoma DOC, Pinney is a felon with former charges of receiving stolen property, malicious injury to property and possession of a stolen vehicle.
“I would encourage every criminal out there to Facebook Live their crimes so that we can catch you a lot easier and use that Facebook Live at your trial to get a better conviction,” Stoltz said.
