One of Chelico’s colleagues said the officer is in “good spirits” and looking forward to going back to work.
The driver, 34-year-old Douglas Donovan, was arrested on felony DUI charges.
A GoFundMe page was set to help Chelico and his family raise $50,000 for his medical expenses. As of Tuesday, the family has raised $33,000.
