MANCHESTER, N.J. — A New Jersey police department has shared dash cam footage capturing a patrolman’s “ninja-like reflexes” in dodging a speeding car.
The Asbury Park Press reports that Patrolman Kyle Rickvalsky was investigating a crash earlier this month that involved a deer struck by a car. As the officer approached the driver side of his patrol vehicle, a white sedan sped by.
The sedan swerved to avoid hitting the officer’s car, but as it swerved, it nearly struck Rickvalsky.
Rickvalsky quickly reacted and rolled out of the way to avoid getting hit.
“With some quick thinking and ninja-like reflexes, Patrolman Rickvalsky was able to dive and roll out of the way of a vehicle that failed to move over,” Manchester police wrote on Facebook. “Without hesitation, Patrolman Rickvalsky was able to relay the incident to dispatch. The vehicle was stopped shortly after and the driver was issued the appropriate violation.”
The name of the driver of the white sedan was not released.
