Walmart is pulling a Black Lives Matter shirt from stores after the FOP president asked them to remove the t-shirts and sweatshirts, according to the Washington Post.

The shirts say “Black Lives Matter” underneath bolder red letters that say “bulletproof.”

Fraternal Order of Police President Chuck Canterbury wrote to the retailer asking them to remove the “offensive t-shirts and sweatshirts.”

“I urge you to prohibit the use of the Walmart name and website for the retail sale of these products,” he wrote in a letter.

A third party sells the merchandise at Walmart, but Canterbury said that “commercializing our differences will not help our local police and communities” build trust and respect for one another.

“I am concerned that allowing these articles to be sold in this way will damage your company’s good name amongst FOP members and other active and retired law enforcement officers,” he wrote.

The retailer said they would remove the specific shirt, but not other “Black Lives Matter” shirts. The website also sells “Blue Lives Matter” merchandise.
