Axon announces 2019 RISE winners, partners with Coffee with a Cop
The company announced its partnership with one of its RISE AWARD winner’s organizations, Coffee with a Cop

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Axon announced the winners of the 2019 RISE Awards, which honors community policing.
This year’s winners include Chris Cognac, former police officer and founder of Coffee with a Cop, and Sylvia Moir, Chief of the Tempe Police Department and advocate for mindfulness in policing. The recipients were both recognized for their efforts and received $5,000 donations to organizations they support.
"It is a privilege to recognize these outstanding examples of community commitment,” Axon CEO and founder Rick Smith said in a press release. “One of the toughest issues facing society today is the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Chris and Sylvia have dedicated their lives to finding a way to bridge this gap by helping both individual community members and focusing on the mental health of officers who serve to protect those community members.”
Axon also announced a partnership with the Coffee with a Cop organization that will bring a sponsorship of training events aimed at developing community policing skills for agencies across the U.S.
