BOSTON — One Boston Police Department district made a community event fun for everyone by unveiling a mini cruiser for the kids, according to a news release.
The Boston District A-1 Community Service Office participated in Charlestown Parade Week at the Touch a Truck event on June 9. While there were a variety of vehicles for participants to view, such as a fire truck and ambulance, the mini cruiser proved to be a big hit, the department said.
The “cruiser” was equipped with lights and sirens, allowing the “deputized junior police operators” to “go on patrol,” according to the release.
“Despite the rainy weather, the mini cruiser kept the fun rolling! Thank you to our officers and civilians in District A-1, our Fleet Management and Radio Shop teams for coming up with this idea and making it happen!” the release stated.
