Police: Woman attacked, spit on officers after being asked to wear mask in grocery store

The woman also assaulted a store employee after being asked to wear a mask or leave the premises

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Police say a Macomb County woman allegedly spit on a police officer and attacked a grocery store employee after refusing to wear a mask inside the store.

The attack occurred at Nino Salvaggio grocery store in St. Clair Shores on April 26, WXYZ- Detroit reports.

The 33-year-old Roseville woman allegedly entered the store and when an employee asked her to leave because she was not wearing a mask, she allegedly attacked the store employee and refused to leave.

Police were called to assist with the suspect, who allegedly behaved erratically. She then allegedly attacked and spit on police officers, WXYZ- Detroit reports.

She was charged with a felony of assaulting a police officer and misdemeanor assault and battery.
