Cleanliness next to Godliness

I saw a new officer do this the other day. After he took a prisoner to jail and the cuffs were removed, he just placed them back into their holder on his belt. Being new, I felt I had to caution him about that. I thought I’d pass along this same tip to Police1 members.

When possible, always wear gloves when handling a prisoner. Also always disinfect anything that touched the prisoner.

An open sore on his wrist could have any type of disease which could get passed to the next prisoner. Hep C maybe?

Even though they are a prisoner, they are our responsibility and we must ensure their protection.
