For the third year in a row, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott and deputies with the Richland County (S.C.) Sheriff’s Department were out in force ringing the bells at Walmart in Columbia, S.C., Thursday Dec. 7.
This year, the Grinch (aka Maj. Rafael Gonzales) joined the RCSD bell-ringers to the delight of children shopping with parents.
The recipient of this year’s Salvation Army Bell-ringer Commendation Award, Lott and his department hold the current record – two years running – for most money raised by an organization in a single day at one location in central S.C.
