HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — The suspect who shot and wounded a Georgia police officer Thursday night is still on the run as of Monday. The officer, 38-year-old Paramhans Desai, was listed in critical but stable condition on Sunday, reported the New York Daily News.

A reward for information leading to the suspect’s capture has grown, thanks in part to NBA star and honorary deputy Shaquille O’Neal. According to the report, O’Neal contributed $5,000 to the fund, which now stands at $30,000. O’Neal is a Henry County resident and an honorary deputy in Clayton County, Georgia. O’Neal also took on the role of community relations director for the Henry County Police Department in January, according to FOX 5. His role aims to improve relationships between law enforcement and the community, police told FOX 5.

Desai was responding to a domestic disturbance when Jordan Jackson, 22, opened fire and fled. Police said Jackson should be “considered armed and dangerous.” He is described as 5-foot-8-inches tall and 165 pounds.

Desai is a 17-year law enforcement veteran and has been with the Henry County Police for the last two years.
