Police believe the “avid outdoorsman” may be stranded somewhere.
The seven-year veteran officer was recently promoted to detective, and police do not believe suicide or foul play is a factor in the disappearance.
“We won’t give up the search effort. We’re getting to the point now that he’s past his weekend and he’s expected to be on duty, and we’ll ... stick with it until we find him,” Police Sgt. Dan Roberts told KSL.
Anyone with information on the officer’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the department at 801-840-4000 with case number 14H018087.
