GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police video shows a patrol car ramming a homicide suspect during a shootout on U.S. 131.

Adam Nolin, 33, killed his girlfriend, Tia Randall, 27, at their Wyoming home before he led police on a high-speed chase and shootout that ended on the expressway, police say.

In-dash camera footage from Grand Rapids police cars was obtained Wednesday, Nov. 14, in a Freedom of Information request by MLive/The Grand Rapids Press.

Nolin got out of his pickup truck after crashing on the S-Curve and was firing at police when he was run down by a Grand Rapids police patrol car, police say.

He allegedly killed Randall, a mother of two, at Creekside Estates mobile-home park, near Clyde Park Avenue SW and 52nd Street on Sept. 27. Wyoming police were called to the home around 8:40 a.m. and found Randall dead.

Later that morning, Wyoming police spotted the suspect’s red pickup truck. He allegedly shot at police at 32nd Street and Buchanan Avenue. The chase continued onto northbound U.S. 131 before Nolin crashed his pickup truck on the S-Curve.

Nolin was hospitalized but survived the crash.

He is facing multiple charges, including open murder and attempted murder. Nolin is undergoing a defense-requested competency evaluation.
