Should you or your partner get sprayed on a call by a suspect (or inadvertently by your partner) you can use Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and water to decontaminate. Try to get the shampoo in your eyes and keep blinking. Johnson’s Baby Shampoo will not hurt your eyes (make certain it’s Johnson’s). The shampoo breaks down the resin and reduces decontamination time by 75-80%.
I mentioned this to a friend of mine at another department and he hadn’t heard about it. I keep a bottle of the shampoo and a couple bottles of water in my equipment.
