This week’s photo comes from Larry Floyd of the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. The photo shows a Special Response Team as they conduct mobile field force training.

“We train to handle multiple incidents that may occur inside our Parish correctional facilities or out in the streets,” Floyd says. “With the recent rise in civil unrest we have doubled our efforts in training of mobile field force to ensure we can efficiently serve and protect our community if a riot should occur anywhere in our Parish. Every operator is trained in the proper use of OC and CS gas and are exposed to the gas in order to fully understand the effects.”
