SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. — A man is being held without bail after he was caught celebrating setting a cruiser on fire in a police station parking lot, WCVB reports.
Arthur Burnham, 45, is accused of dousing the cruiser with gasoline, then setting it on fire at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the report. The police caught Burnham cheering and laughing at his actions.
Officer Ryan Chase told The Telegram & Gazette that Burnham is “very well known to the department.”
Burnham was charged with arson of a motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property. At his arraignment Wednesday, he pleaded not guilty and a mental health evaluation was ordered before his court date next month.
