HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Patrons at Chuck E. Cheese’s, a car lot and tire shop spotted an unusual sight Friday afternoon in Huntsville -- a naked man running along busy Jordan Lane.
“It’s not something you see every day,” said Mike Mauhdi, who posted videos of the man on Facebook. One of the videos shows the man being tased by police.
Huntsville police Lt. Michael Johnson said the naked man hasn’t been charged with any crimes. Instead, he was taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation and treatment. Police haven’t released the man’s name.
Johnson said just before the man was tased, he told officers they would “have to shoot” him.
Mauhdi owns One Stop Auto at 1213 Jordan Lane. He said he was working on a vehicle when he heard honking and other commotion coming from the street.
“I looked and the dude was just taking a stroll down the sidewalk,” Mauhdi said. “If anybody gave him any attention, he would dart toward them screaming at them.”
Mauhdi said he called police and minutes later they arrived on the scene. “The second the cop opened his door, the naked guy darted toward them.”
Once the naked man was tased, officers put him in handcuffs and took him from the scene.
