NEW YORK — The NYPD is searching for a DoorDash delivery driver who police believe contaminated a meal meant for an officer.

Video obtained by NBC New York shows a man using his bare hands to push a note into a Chipotle burrito bowl. The note read, “Hope that ---- taste good,” giving some the impression that the food may have been tampered with in other ways.

According to NBC New York, the video was originally posted to Facebook but was later deleted. The Facebook user claimed to have been the one to place the note.

Police said the incident happened Monday afternoon; the officer who ordered the food threw it away.

DoorDash condemned the driver’s actions and said it had cut ties with the suspect.

“This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and has no place in our community,” the company said in a statement to NBC New York. “We take the trust and respect of merchants, customers and Dashers extremely seriously. We have deactivated the Dasher and have reached out to the customer involved.”

Police are searching for the driver and could charge him with reckless endangerment, according to the report.
