RICHMOND, Calif. — Police said a man defecated in the backseat of a patrol car and spit his feces at officers.
Officers received a notification of a possible wanted person in the area last week and detained him when they arrived on the scene, according to the department’s Facebook.
Initially, the man gave a false name. When officers ran the name, they found an arrest warrant. After the suspect realized he was about to be arrested, he gave police his real identity. The officers found an arrest warrant under that name as well.
He was taken into custody for the warrant and false impersonation. While in the back of the patrol vehicle, the man undressed, threw his clothes out to the window and defecated. Police exited the vehicle to see what was going on and realized he was eating his feces. The suspect proceeded to spit the feces at the officers.
Officers called for backup and CHP shut down the freeway to ensure the safety of all parties. Officers placed the suspect in a compliance safety device, according to the Facebook post. He was then transported to the county jail.
“We are proud of the officers’ professionalism, composure and patience in this incident,” the post read. “We appreciate the partnership we have with the CHP and their continued efforts to help keep everyone safe on the freeways.”
