ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities say an Orlando police officer shot at three men suspected of stealing a car after the driver nearly ran him over.
The Orlando Sentinel reports the incident happened Wednesday afternoon. No one was hurt.
Orlando police spokeswoman Sgt. Wanda Miglio says officers responded after receiving a call about someone breaking the window of an SUV and then leaving in a gold Nissan with two other men.
Officers spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Miglio says as the officer walked to the car, the driver lurched forward, almost hitting the officer, who then fired his gun at the suspects before the driver fled.
Police pursued the car and the suspects were eventually caught and arrested.
Authorities haven’t released the suspects’ name or what charges they may face.
