BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police released dash cam video Monday of a Feb. 20 pursuit that ended with two men attacking a trooper.
Trooper Garry Guild attempted to pull over Michael Barber, 21, who was riding a stolen motorcycle, WNDU reported. Barber fled at a high speed.
Barber crashed the motorcycle after crossing a median. Guild exited his patrol car to arrest Barber when a struggle ensued.
Barber’s brother, Travis Wise, 19, pulled up in a different vehicle and joined in on the fight, putting Guild in a chokehold, the news station reported. Barber attempted to grab Guild’s weapon as well.
According to WXYZ, Jerry Burnham and his wife pulled over to help Guild when they saw he was being attacked. They were able to pull the men off Guild.
Barber and Wise were arrested and face multiple charges, including assault and resisting an officer.
Guild is back on duty.
