HARPER WOODS, Mich. — A Michigan police officer who was hailed a hero says he was just doing his job when he saved a man from a fiery crash last month.
Dramatic dashcam video shows Officer Luke Pauly pulling a limp man from the engulfed wreck.
According to FOX 2, Pauly arrived first at the scene and learned from bystanders that someone was still inside the flaming car.
“If it would have been a minute later, I’m sure there would have been a little bit more fire in the car,” Pauly told FOX 2. “I would have been more exposed, but I left unscathed.”
Pauly says his actions are in his job description and credited the other officers on scene that night.
The crash victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, according to the report.
