United Kingdom — Wi-Fi will be introduced in nearly 500 courtrooms across England and Wales, bringing centuries of paper-based tradition to an end.
As part of the £160 million initiative, to be announced today, evidence given in court will no longer be presented on paper and will appear on screen by the end of 2016.
The process of storing evidence digitally will begin with police, who are to record incidents on smartphones, enabling them to start building case files from the street.
