ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office posted a photo of slain Colorado State Trooper Jamie Jursevics’ 8-month-old daughter in her mother’s hat to warn the public about the dangers of drinking and driving, KTVU reported.

“For anyone planning on just having a ‘few beers’ and driving home after, look at this little girl. She will grow up without her mother,” the post said.

Jursevics, 33, was killed by a driver on Nov. 15 while investigating a collision on the highway, Associated Press reported. Investigators concluded the driver, 52-year-old Eric Peter Henderson was drunk when he hit the trooper who was using her flashlight to direct him to the side of the road. Henderson is a retired Army colonel.

A memorial service for Jursevics is scheduled for today.

She leaves behind her daughter and a husband.
