GRANTSVILLE, Utah — A video of Grantsville Officer Cory Cooper chasing and successfully capturing a runaway pig has gone viral, FOX News reported.

The video shows Cooper cornering the pig on the driveway, darting back and forth to prevent the pig from fleeing. Eventually, Cooper dove and captured the pig, who had been on the loose for about a week, according to the report.

“I think she was just getting tired because we’d been chasing her and her partner around for a couple hours in that neighborhood,” Cooper told Fox News Digital.

The incident was filmed by Cooper’s sergeant, who arrived on the scene to assist, according to the report. Since going viral, Cooper has received widespread support and a mix of humorous comments online, with some speculating about his past as either a football player or someone with farm experience. Cooper clarified he played football in high school but did not grow up on a farm, though he had some prior experience with animals.

Cooper told FOX Digital that animal calls were not uncommon in the area, recounting run-ins with bulls and a notably aggressive rooster.

The runaway pigs are currently housed at a farm while authorities attempt to locate their owner, with the possibility of putting them up for adoption if they remain unclaimed, according to the report.
