Chief Christopher Cook

Christopher Cook serves as the Chief of Police for the City of White Settlement, a suburb in Fort Worth, Texas consisting of 21,000 residents and home to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base. He previously served as a Deputy Police Chief for the Arlington, Texas Police Department. The White Settlement Police Department is accredited by the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation and certified by the Georgetown University under the prestigious Active Bystander for Law Enforcement (ABLE) program. As a full-service law enforcement agency with 60 team members, the department maintains the coveted “We Hire Vets” certification by the Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Veterans Commission.

Chief Cook earned a Master’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Arlington and completed the Certified Public Manager Program at Texas State University. As a published author of the best-selling book, “The Art of Strategic Communication, a Police Chief’s Guide to Mastering Soundbites, Storytelling, and Community Engagement,” he is also a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police session #63 and the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas 67th Leadership Command College.

Chief Cook is a regular contributor to Police1 and other journals with his vast experience in public relations and traditional media. He is the Past President of the National Information Officers Association.
