ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — An officer died and two other people were injured Sunday when the officer collided with a vehicle while transporting a juvenile to a detention center.
According to the Associated Press, 51-year-old Officer Mike Villarreal crashed into a pickup truck while transporting a 15-year-old.
Both the juvenile and the driver of the truck were in critical condition Monday.
The officer had served with the Pearsall Police Department for under a year, ODMP reported.
