An NBA player has apologized for directing a gay slur at a police officer during his arrest that was caught on video.
In the video released Tuesday by TMZ.com, Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes is seen having a run-in with police outside a restaurant where he had earlier had dinner with his wife, Basketball Wives star Gloria Gova.
Barnes used the slur when an officer attempted to take him into custody on an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.
The couple argued at length with the officers before Barnes uttered the slur.
In September, Barnes pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of driving without a license and resisting arrest.
“I hope that any and all offended parties can accept my sincerest apologies,” Barnes told TMZ.
