SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. – A Sonoma County deputy captured footage of the wildfires currently ripping through Northern California.

According to KCEN, the department posted the footage on Facebook of the Tubbs Fire, along with a warning for residents to stay safe as officials continue to battle the blaze.

“As both the Sheriff's Office and a County Agency full of Sonoma County residents, we are proud of all who have risked harm to help each other out in times of peril,” the department wrote. “This is but one moment in a series of moments that will end up defining the strength of our Community through what will be a pinnacle moment in Sonoma County history.”

Thousands of homes and businesses have been destroyed in the deadly wildfires, which started Sunday night. Evacuations have been ordered throughout the state’s wine country as first responders work to contain the disaster.
