TEMPE, Ariz. — Police officers in Tempe, Arizona, went above and beyond the call of duty last week when they replaced a young boy’s toy tractor.

“Our officers answered a family’s prayers this morning by gifting 4-year-old Gerald a new Gator after his was stolen a couple weeks ago,” police said Saturday via Twitter.

Gerald’s father, Peter Philbrook, posted to Facebook last month asking for help to recover the stolen toy. Philbrook said that he and his son had bonded over building the tractor, saying he would ‘sell whatever I can to come up with a reward.’

“I am absolutely blown away with the love, kindness, generosity and overall compassion that we have received from members of our community over this,” Philbrook said on Facebook after officers unveiled the replacement toy.

According to AZFamily.com, the Tempe Officers Association teamed up with a local Walmart to make the gift happen.
