HOLIDAY, Fla. — Despite the massive carnage left by Hurricane Ian, the storm did help forge a special bond between one homeless furry friend and a Pasco County deputy.
WTSP News reported that as residents were bracing for Hurricane Ian days before the storm was set to make landfall, the noise from heavy wind and rain caused a terrified kitten to scutter into the middle of an intersection.
The deputy was on patrol when he discovered the kitten, placing her inside his vehicle as weather conditions began to deteriorate. The kitten was so desperate to hurriedly scurry to safety, she accidentally wedged herself into the wheel well of the patrol car.

The deputy requested help, and with additional reinforcements, was able to dislodge the kitten. The officer built a unique connection with the small kitten during the rescue, consequently adopting her as his own.
The kitten, fondly named “Hurricane,” is now safe in the arms of Florida’s finest, “enjoying her new friends and home,” according to the deputy.
