CEDAR HILL, Texas — The Cedar Hill Police Department is getting quite a bit of attention for a parody of a series of car commercials starring Matthew McConaughey.
The spoof stars Sergeant Larry Wise, and was filmed for an awards banquet before it made it up on the department’s social media pages, CBS DFW reported.
The Lincoln car commercials, which feature McConaughey spouting off philosophical musings as he drives, have been the subject of multiple parodies – including a spoof performed by Jim Carrey on SNL.
Wise reportedly hopes the video will bring cops and the local community closer together.
“We laugh at the same things, we enjoy the same things, and no we’re not just robots programmed to ticket and arrest,” Wise told CBS DFW.
