FALL RIVER, Mass. — Five dozen new baseball bats were delivered to a Houston little league team affected by Hurricane Harvey thanks to a Massachusetts police department.
WLNE-TV reports that the Fall River Police department learned about a little league team run by the Houston Police Department that lost all of its equipment during the storm. Fall River Police Sergeant Brett Kimball decided to quickly come to their assistance.
“It doesn’t matter where we are, we watch and listen and we answer the calls for help,” Sgt. Kimball said.
Sgt. Kimball contacted “Axis Sports” and asked them to produce specially crafted baseball bats for the team. Each bat was engraved with the Fall River PD logo, the Texas flag and the words “Texas strong, united we stand.”
