Richard Breshears is a veteran law enforcement leader with nearly 20 years of service at the Overland Park Police Department. He currently commands the Parkway Division as a Police Major, where he provides strategic oversight for Patrol Operations, the Traffic Safety Unit, the School Resource Unit, the Emergency Services Section, and the Animal Control Unit.
Throughout his tenure, Major Breshears has developed deep operational expertise through various specialized and supervisory roles, with a particular focus on the advancement of departmental technology. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associates Degree in Adminstration of Justice.
