    Brian Harris

    Brian Harris joins the PoliceGrantsHelp.com team from a ten-year law enforcement career where he served both as a civilian and sworn officer. As a veteran Police Officer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Brian as served law enforcement as a Training Coordinator, Field Training Officer, Community Service Officer, Instructor and Grant Program Administrator. Now working as an independent consultant, Brian is a regular law enforcement instructor for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Texas Municipal Police Association’s F.R.I.D.AY. program and is a Franklin Covey certified instructor.   • Chris Lawrence is the Team Leader of the Defensive Tactics Training Section at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario, Canada. Chris began his police career in 1979 as a foot patrol officer in St. Thomas Ontario. In 1983 he joined the Peel Regional Police where his assignments included general patrol, cell officer, Underwater Search & Recovery, Marine Patrol, Tactical & Rescue Unit, Criminal Investigation Bureau and Training.

    Chris’ teaching experience started in 1983 and includes training related to his assignments, including 4 years as adjunct faculty at Sheridan College in Brampton, Ontario and 10 years as a consultant in the security industry. He became a full-time staff instructor at OPC in 1996.

    Chris has a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, and is a Technical Advisor to the Force Science Research Center, Minnesota State University-Mankato. He has testified regarding use of force training and subject control in Canada and the United States and has published and presented on the subject of police use of force and sudden deaths throughout North America and in Australia.

  • Dale Stockton is a 32-year-veteran of law enforcement, having worked in all areas of police operations and investigations and retiring as a police captain from Carlsbad, California. He is a graduate of the 201st FBI National Academy and holds a Master’s degree in Criminology from the University of California, Irvine. He has served as a Commissioner for California POST, the agency responsible for all California policing standards and training.     A 25-year-veteran of the Carlsbad (Ca.) Police Department, Captain Dale Stockton has achieved national recognition in both his law enforcement and publishing career. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the California Supervisory Leadership Institute, the Southwest Command College, and has served as a Commissioner for California POST, the agency responsible for recruitment and training standards for all California police officers. Stockton teaches college level criminal justice courses and is regarded as the most widely published writer/photographer in the law enforcement market.

    Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, U.S. Army (Ret.), is an internationally recognized scholar, author, soldier, speaker, and one of the world’s most foremost experts in the field of human aggression, the roots of violence, and violent crime. As an Airborne Ranger infantry officer, and a prior-service sergeant and paratrooper, he has over 23 years of experience in leading U.S. soldiers worldwide. Col. Grossman retired from the Army in February 1998 and has since devoted himself to research, speaking, teaching, and writing. He has combined his experiences as a former Army Ranger and former West Point psychology professor and a professor of military science to become the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor, which has been termed “killology.” In this new field, he has made revolutionary new contributions to our un- derstanding of killing in war, the psychological costs of war, the root causes of the current “virus” of violent crimes that is raging around the world, and in the processes used to help victims of violence heal, in times of both peace and war. Col. Grossman is the author of On Killing, which was nominated for a Pulitzer and is is on the required reading list of the U.S. Marine Corps Commandant and the FBI Academy. He also coauthored Warrior Mindset and Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill: A Call to Action Against TV, Movie and Video Game Violence.   • Sergeant David Kinaan retired in 2012 as the supervisor of the California Highway Patrol Academy’s Motorcycle Training Unit. Sergeant Kinaan was an active member of the CHP for nearly 29 years and started riding enforcement motorcycles for the CHP in 1989. Sergeant Kinaan served in the Central Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, Westminster and North Sacramento Areas before coming to the Academy’s Motorcycle Training Unit in 2008. David Kinaan is currently a Quality Assurance Technician with Kawasaki Motors Corporation and is involved in modification and testing of Kawasaki’s CG1400 Police Motorcycle. David Kinaan also consults with various entities throughout the nation, and provides expert witness testimony, on all matters related to motorcycle operations in enforcement and emergency services.

  • Dennis Haworth is a police officer with a California state law enforcement agency. He has been a law enforcement range master and armorer for more than a decade. Haworth has served as a police academy instructor and has taught specialized courses on several subject matters. He has been involved in product testing for professional associations, manufacturers and law enforcement agencies. He has a BS in Criminology and an MPA with a specialization in human resources management. Much of his free time is spent as an advisor to the Shooting Sports Club at his local University of California campus.
