CHICAGO — Two men posing as police officers have robbed several people in at least six incidents in Little Village on the Southwest Side, police say.
Victims were approached by one or two people who claimed to be police officers and took the victims’ money between 8 p.m. and midnight between Dec. 18 and Friday, according to a community alert issued by Harrison Area detectives.
The main suspect was described as a Hispanic man 20 to 25 years old; 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall; 150 pounds, wearing a blue sweater or vest and a chain with a silver-colored badge around his neck, police said. He carried a police-type handheld radio, flashlight and handgun, the alert said.
A second suspect has mainly served as the driver of the getaway car. The vehicles used in the robberies were described as a red Chevrolet Lumina or Monte Carlo with gray on the trunk and a white Chevrolet Suburban, the alert said.
