EDINA, Minn. — A Jimmy John’s employee was fired for refusing to serve an Edina officer, KSTP reported.
The incident was reported on the restaurant’s Facebook page by a man who claimed to work for the police department. He wrote that the officer was denied service when trying to buy a sandwich.
The employee reportedly refused to help the officer because too many Jimmy John’s employees have been ticketed by the department.
In addition to terminating the employee, a spokesperson from the Edina franchise told the publication the location plans to treat officers to free sandwiches.
