SAN FRANCISCO — The district attorney’s office may soon disclose records detailing the tarnished pasts of dozens of San Francisco police officers.
The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting Tuesday that the records may soon be given to defense attorneys any time the officers are involved in an arrest.
Although a 47-year-old U.S. Supreme Court ruling mandates turning over officer background records, San Francisco prosecutors have not done so consistently.
