When you approach a traffic stop, consider the dangers. Is it day or night? Are there multiple passengers? What about the area surrounding the stop? Should you do a passenger side approach? Consider these things on every stop.
Responding to domestic incidents how will you arrive? Will you do a drive past the residence to see if you can pick anything up? Will you park down the street and approach from an unexpected direction on foot? Will you wait for back up?
How about suspicious person calls? Will you take a look-listen slow approach?. Share some thoughts here for our members. We have lost more than 100 officers this year and the number seems to be rising.
